Title: Generalizing Gestural Interaction Across Devices and Contexts

Abstract: Gestural interaction allows for quick and efficient interaction on many different devices. Most solutions may work well within a limited scope (device x context) but could have problems generalizing. In this talk, we discuss how we might be able to generalize such interaction, as well as the challenges that may raise.

Bio: Simon Perrault is a professor at Télécom Paris. Before that, he was a faculty at the Singapore University of Technology and Design between 2019 and 2025, where he led a team of researchers focusing on interaction for mobile and wearable computing, AR/VR, as well as digital participation in contexts such as online deliberation and urban planning. He was also a visiting professor at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technologies in 2018, and an Assistant Professor at Yale-NUS College from 2015 to 2018, where his research focused more on gestural interaction feedback for wearable computing.
